The 6th Sense In Humans – Does It Exist?

The simplest definition of the 6th sense is the ability to sense things by means other than the common senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell. This begs the question, the 6th sense in humans – does it exist?

Psychology Today wrote an article called, “Yes, You Have A Sixth Sense And You Should Trust It!” This goes on to present a discussion to prove why this is so.

It is interesting that this article was published in 2015, 78 years after Napoleon Hill made his discovery that a 6th sense existed. Discovered that it existed when he researched material for his iconic book Think and Grow Rich.

What Is The Think and Grow Rich Secret – Can It Work For You?

Genesis of This Book

Napoleon Hill wrote this book over a period of two decades when he interviewed the leading entrepreneurs of his day to find out what was their secret for success. Andrew Carnegie encouraged the young Napoleon to undertake this major task.

The results have shaped the world of motivational and self-help gurus ever since it was published in 1937. Near the end of this article I shall give you a free copy of this book in digital form.

If you have a copy and read it, you will know that although an easy and captivating read, the amount of wisdom it contains demands multiple reads to fully take it all in.

The Secret

Mr. Hill states the book contains a secret we must understand and apply if we are going to become successful in reaching our goals. But he never comes out and tells us what that secret is.

I feel he is playing games with his readers as he wants us to discover this secret by ourselves. He says that when we are ready, it will jump out at us.

Since I do not want to spoil your experience of discovery, I am going to leave it to you to find out.

May I quote an excerpt from this chapter as it is pivotal to Mr. Hill’s exploration of the Brain:

“…man understands little or nothing of thought. He knows but little concerning the physical brain, and its vast network of intricate machinery through which the power of thought is transmitted into its material equivalent, but he is now entering an age which shall yield enlightenment on the subject,”

When we consider that Napoleon Hill wrote this 78 years ago, we have a much better understanding on the workings of the brain. I feel that even with that great progress, we are still only scratching the surface.

Sixth Sense – The Movie

When I came across this chapter, my first thought was of the movie, The 6th Sense by M. Night Shymalan released in 1999. The boy Cole Sear, acted by Haley Joel Osment, had a 6th sense where he could see dead people.

The saying, “I see dead people!” has become so famous to be joked upon and parodied in the years since. I don’t think our 6th sense can go that far. But who knows!

The best way to think of our 6th sense is how our intuition works. Often we get a hunch and act on it. When I do, more often than not, the decision I made resulted in a positive outcome. This doesn’t always work that way. So don’t bet the bank on it.

Can we use our “6th Sense” in our online businesses? I feel we can. But not blindly. If we take the lessons in Think and Grow Rich seriously and put them into practice, we will be better equipped to trust our intuition when making business decisions.

The business I am recommending is Affiliate Marketing. The title shouts it out loud.

Three Critical Factors For Success

In order to meet our goals in Affiliate Marketing, or any other business or personal goals we need three components.

1. The know how necessary to build the business
2. The discipline to work hard and smart.
3. The patience so that we do not give up.

Know How – The 1st Critical Factor

Having the know how to build an Affiliate Marketing business alone is not enough to create wealth. One also needs the discipline and the commitment to work hard and smart to implement that know how effectively and with urgency,

Here is where Think and Grow Rich can help enormously. The “13 Steps” to riches is very aptly titled for Affiliate Marketing. Or for that matter, any business.

The main purpose of any business is to offer products or services to provide value to paying customers.

When we can help more people, we also earn more income. This is a byproduct of the value we provide to others.

The Patience – The 3rd Critical Factor

Apart from winning the lottery or inheriting a fortune, there are very few things in life that can make us rich quick. If you have a burning desire to get-rich-quick,

I can promise that you will most likely loose whatever money you do have quick. Been there. Done that.

It takes a while to build a firm foundation for any business. And that also applies to Affiliate Marketing. This takes time and hard work.

When your business is up and running you want it to sustain itself with little input from you. This is the Holy Grail of Passive Income.

But this will only happen if the foundations of your business are firm and secure. If it is hastily put together it will also fall apart when you least expect it.

As you can guess, I am a big fan of Think and Grow Rich. I felt so strongly that the lessons it taught can help us instill work habits that will lead to success This motivated me to share my insights with members of Wealthy Affiliate.
